Hey there! I'm Sun Zizhuo, a 17-year-old JC1 student at Hwa Chong Institution. I started programming
at 7 or 8 with Scratch, and at 12 started my Node.js journey with Discord bots. Fast forward to
today, I code for fun and for research, both of which bring me
tremendous joy.
My passion for research started with a chemistry project in Secondary 2. From then on, I've dabbled
in engineering and physics research, in which I hope to contribute to in the future.
In the meantime, you can find me volunteering, watching movies, playing
Valorant/Clash Royale or scrolling cat reels on Instagram.

Notable things that I have done in research, computing and others.
On Optimised Numerical Methods for the Computation of Particles in Fusion Hotspots and Particle Interactions in Magnetised Liner Inertial Fusion (MagLIF).
Awarded to students with good academic and CCA track records who are passionate about science and technology, especially in the defence sector.
Supported by the University of Lucknow and the Asian African Association for Plasma Training.
Detailed chronological list of all accomplishments
Notable experiences I had over the years.

A mentoring programme that serves children aged 5-14, from low-income and/or single-parent families, through free academic coaching (English & Mathematics) and values-driven activities.
Collaborated with students from Bugil Academy in Cheonan, South Korea.
Serving the needs of students by organising important schoolwide events as Organising Secretary.
Joined Hwa Chong Track and Field as a sprinter and hurdler, with a few achievements along the way.
Always tinkering.
The prevalence of low-cost drones suggests a need to track them to prevent misuse. Traditionally, PID controllers are used for tracking target drones, albeit with major limitations. Therefore, the efficacy of a PPO-based agent was explored, with results showing consistent major improvements over PID controllers. This suggests that PPO controllers may serve as a promising alternative to PID controllers.
Heavy metal ions, dyes and oil are major water pollutants that harm human and ecological health. Magnetite-coated S. Cerevisiae was synthesized and its adsorbing capabilities evaluated. Overall, results demonstrated that depending on the nature of the pollutant, this yeast-based bionanocomposite demonstrated exceptional adsorption capabilities which demand further exploration.
The Barnes-Hut algorithm was initially created to analytically solve n-body gravitational systems. However, it was adapted to solve particle interactions in plasma hotspots as an alternative to current particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation methods. Simulations demonstrated expected behaviour such as coulomb explosion, while incorporating necessary features such as energy conservation.
Hydrogel was synthesised from chitin, which was extracted from crab shells. This chitin-based hydrogel was used to extract heavy metal ions and dyes, which are common wastewater contaminants. Results show promising adsorption capabilities for certain contaminants, especially when solution pH was adjusted.
